We talk about our daily triumphs and setbacks in coping with an invisible and chronic condition.

Re: Fibromyalgia Blog - Fibro World - You know you have fibromyalgia when...

This is a very cute story. LOL been there and have gotten all these reactions from drs and others. Your not in pain if they can't see it.
I have recieved 2 Botox Treatments for my Migraines, I am very pleased with this tx. By far this is the only thing thast has helped my Migraines and muscle pain inthe neck and shoulder pain. If your trying to send it thru your Insurance, try having your Drs submit in under a different code. Most Insurances wont cover this as they see the word Botox and think, Cosmetic, I looked up my Condition then looked over my Insurance Coverage found that if you submit it under Cervical Dystonia the Insurance will cover the tx. I paid for my tx. the first time as I didnt know protocol for submitting it to Ins. Co. My last injection was on June 6, 2011. Insurance has covered this procedure 100 %. A different technique was used this time and Im pretty sure its not gonna work this way for me, so we will do the other technique that was used in prior tx, as we found this to be very affective. its very expensive, however it is well worth the money, mine lasted about 4 months, with no migraines and some small little headaches.

I would try anything to get my life back from the Migraines and the Fibro. I'm 43 and havent been able to work since 2007. Just not how I pictured my life at this age.
Good luck to yall. If you havent tried this I highly reccommend that you do.
Much love out to all you Fibro sufferes, and btw, NO WE ARE NOT CRAZY!!!!!!!!!

Debbie

Re: Fibromyalgia Blog - Fibro World - You know you have fibromyalgia when...

I'm so glad you are both doing this blog together, I've learned a lot from it.

Re: Fibromyalgia Blog - Fibro World - You know you have fibromyalgia when...

most definitely!! I was diagnosed with fibro in 2005 and haven't worked since Spring 2006. Anyways, I wanted to say hello. Any advice you can give would be great. I haven't talked to a nutritionist, but I saw a rheumatologist in 2005. My mom's cause has RA so that worries me. When I was tested last I showed negative, but my rheumy said I could still have it.

I'm able to walk around the mall but I'm much slower and I have to take breaks. Today I went with my 12 year old daughter. It's horrible when we go with her friends because I'm far behind them. Usually I tell them to just call me when they want to meet up again. I just can't keep their pace. I was trying to do an observation for the blog assignment. I've been going back and forth with the assignments 13-20.

Anyways, you can find me at:

It's amazing how drugs with such horrible side effects are prescribed so easily. I gained nearly 40 pounds in the first 2 months of taking Lyrica and they're still reluctant to leave, even though I quit Lyrica after a few months -about 2 years ago!

I'm so happy to hear that you are doing well without any meds! Can't wait to read more about it on your blog.

Re: Fibromyalgia Blog - Fibro World - You know you have fibromyalgia when...

That is great! I so can relate to that!!! Lyrica - that drug is nothing but a hazard! I took one and should have gone to the hospital because of what it did to me, but i hate hospitals and waited out the side effects at home (probably a mistake, but...) No more fibro drugs for me - and that has been the best medicine in treating my fibro thus far!!! ;)

Re: Fibromyalgia Blog - Fibro World - You know you have fibromyalgia when...

Thanks for recognizing what is hidden beneath the humor, Shmonae. We love Sandra Boynton - anyone who draws hippopotamuses must be some kind of artistic genius.

Re:fibro diet, according to the WebMD fibromyalgia diet, fibro food no-nos include sugar, dairy, caffeine, and veggies from the nightshade family - tomato, potato, bellpeppers and eggplant). However, if they don't trigger fibro pain then you're one of the lucky people who can eat them. We talk about Dot's diet in the post Fibromyalgia Diet: Gluten Free Is Not Free.

Re: Fibromyalgia Blog - Fibro World - You know you have fibromyalgia when...

OMG, I love, love, love Sandra Boyton! Sorry, got distracted by the hippopotamus. (Spelled that wrong, but I have spell checker in my bowser so I corrected it and now look like a genius! LOL!)

Trip and fall ... I do that, a lot. My doctor gave up and just gave me the permanent disabled placard, which is free btw here in California. Why are eggplant and tomatoes your enemy? I love them ... but they aren't good for fibro? But I have so many planted in my garden...

OMG I love Sandra Boyton! Oops ... I already said that.
